Hey, Awesome Nerds! First of all, this was supposed to be a video. I had it all filmed uploaded to the computer and when I sat down to edit it, somehow it skipped and jumped and the sound was all discombobulated and it just didn’t work. So this is the blog post back up. I’m super excited to be participating… Read More

This is super fun—love listening to Reese Witherspoon’s voice. I seriously need to get this book ASAP. Anyone who knows me, knows I need this shirt (and honestly, guys, I don’t mean to . . .) Laundry room fluff. We were going to do stencil on the back wall, but can we talk about how much of a pain it… Read More

Book Report: June

It’s been a whirlwind month! I only got a few of books read. . . The 100 (Kass Morgan): This one was a pretty fast read for me. I liked getting all the different perceptions—which is something you didn’t get with the television show. And I love how it was sooooo much different from the tv show too. I’m excited to… Read More

What We’re Reading: The Pirate and the Firefly

The Pirate and the Firefly (by: Tara McClary Reeves and Amanda Jenkins—yes, “the Left Behind series” Jenkin’s daughter-in-law) is a cute book about a little boy named Oliver (even more reasons to love this story) who learns to stand up for what’s right instead of giving in to peer pressure. The bright, fun illustrations, and the fact that Oliver was a… Read More

Here are some fun things found around the web this week. A great playlist you don’t have to worry about skipping songs. While my brother and his girlfriend were in town, they kinda talked me into graphic novels. I’m diving in with this series, but have a few more in my Amazon wishlist . . . Loving this book (and her… Read More

Anytime there is a YA series made into movie, I get really excited. This one (TV series—which may be better) is no exception. I love this gal’s workouts. Such an inspiration! Since I now have a whirlpool tub, I have all the excuses for yummy candles (as if you really need an excuse). I’m swooning over these and these bookish… Read More

That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
