Our School Plan

Our School Plan

Most people think I’m insanely crazy for wanting to start school with E this year. I’m a nerd. I love school. I love learning. So how could I not start “school”? I’m using the term “school” loosely here. We are not going to be going through books or have a hard schedule. We’ll most likely be doing school once maybe… Read More

Re-Thinking the Go Bag

Apparently in the year and a half since I had my first baby, all reason went out the window. Not only for our first outing did I stare at the diaper bag and dumbly wonder what I was supposed to put in it, I apparently totally forgot how to pack for the hospital. Pretty sure I didn’t use three-fourths of… Read More

Flip-flops for the shower and slippers to wear just around. (I also… Read More

I’m Looking Forward To …

Having baby Drew. Getting rid of this cold Winter. I love the cold. We have an old house that is promising to be drafty. I’m looking forward to lots of quilts on the couch, bundling up the babies to keep warm, and fires in the fire place. Snow. (I’m beginning to think the heat is really getting to me) Cooking… Read More

I’m really excited to bring you this story — yes, I’ve been talking about it for years and this is the year it is finally happening!!
That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
