Products to Love: Essie Good to Go

I have always loved the idea of a great home manicure. However, I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my nails. Every inch has to be painted and heaven forbid I ever get it off my nail and onto my finger. And then there’s the smudging. A good smudge messes up the whole dang thing. Essie polish… Read More

Adventures in Cloth Diapers: Why do I do it?

It is a question universally acknowledged — why in the world do I cloth diaper?! There’s the issue of the extra laundry, the “inconvenience” of out on the town, and the poo. Oh the poo. (Can you tell that I know really want to read Pride and Prejudice… again). Most people would think it’s an issue with money. In fact,… Read More

That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
