National Day of Coffee

National Day of Coffee, I love you. I love coffee and while it’s true I don’t drink it as often as I used to (see this post) I still very much love it.I’m pretty sure on the seventh day, after he finished creating the world, God sat down and took his rest with a large steaming coffee of wonderful coffee…. Adventures in Cloth Diapering: Pre-folds vs. AIO

There are so many different choices when it comes to cloth diapers and brands. For my family, we’ve chosen the bum genius brand (one size, all in ones). It just made more sense to buy one diaper that will last from newborn to potty trained and for us the fit is great. However, bum genius, at $18 a diaper, could… Read More

It FINALLY Came!!!!

Technically this was for her birthday (which is still a month and a half away). It came via UPS today. I couldn’t hide it away. I had to get it out so she could play with it. I know I’m terrible. I’m horrible at waiting for anything. My new obsession will be buying wooden food for her (I love wooden… Read More

School Plan: Part 1

School Plan: Part 1

I’m finally getting on the ball on the school thing. I have a goal start date of October 6th. Of course I had to have a list/lesson plan. Even if we are in “real” school yet, I still have to have a plan — written out — or it will never get done. I have been using printable scheduling resources… Read More

Salad Obessions

Salad Obessions

Lately, for whatever reason, I have been loving salads. Not that I didn’t like salad before, but now I love it. I’ve been making what I like to call “dump salads”. Dump salads, much like dump soup, means basically anything goes. I just randomly choose things from the fridge and toss it in my salad. My favorites so far include:… Read More

The Weekender

This weekend we … *Went to a Fall Festival/Craft Fair at Fin and Feather. *Consumed a large amount of chili. *Ran out of my favorite tea … now to figure out where else I can buy it since Target isn’t carrying it anymore. *Ordered this for Elsie (I really tried to wait until her birthday… no such luck) *Watched football…. The Switch — Coffee to Tea

It has never been any question how much of a coffee lover I have been. I have always liked the stuff — from the first time my grandma let me take a drink from her cup (coffee and milk) to the time my dad took me out on a “date” and we went to the local coffee shop (and of… Read More

That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
