Three Books

Three Books

This post is part of Love Bailey Jean’s 2016 Blog-tember Challenge. The request is simple. Three books. One you just read, one you’re currently reading, and one you want to read. (This may be one of my favorite prompts all month.) Book I just read: Crazy in Alabama | Mark Childress: I’m not even going to try to explain this book… Read More

Five Things That Bring Me Joy

Five Things That Bring Me Joy

This post is part of Love Bailey Jean’s 2016 Blog-tember Challenge. Five things that bring me joy right now: (1) Finding little boy toys in my plants. (2) A stack of books waiting to be read and reviewed. (3) Hot tea. Generally I’m all about the coffee, but this week fight a cough and sore throat and all the sickness, hot… Read More

In Review | Girl Against the Universe

I had no idea what I was in for, going into Girl Against the Universe. Paula Stokes hits on the tough issues—OCD, PTSD, teen stress and anxiety—all with poise and tasteful humor. The most beautiful library in each US state. This makes me want to take film photos again. Things you can learn from the Doctor. (yes,… Read More

Things My Grandfather Taught Me

Things My Grandfather Taught Me

Yesterday we laid my Grandfather to rest (wasn’t he so handsome?) He was an amazing man, and he will be greatly missed. He’s been in my mind a lot this week and we’ve prepared for the funeral—and yesterday was the perfect, rainy day. In my mind funerals always happen on rainy, dreary days. This is a super short list of some… Read More

Book Report: July

Book Report: July

Had a good run last month! Always looking for more to put on my TBR stack. I’d love to hear any recommendations! Through the Woods | Emily Carroll: Diving back into graphic novels. This one was strange. I like the fact that each chapter was a short story of sorts. Each story had its on creepy aspect (I’m thinking like… Read More
