I’m loving this pre-conference mix and mingle. The amazing Laurie Tomlinson organized it (once again)! Looking forward to meeting lots of people this year (in the two short days that I’m going to be able to attend. Ha! If you see me walking around—hit me up! We’ll grab some coffee and talk writing!) Here’s how to play: Copy/paste the questions and… Read More

‘Threads of Suspicion’ in Review

This book brings back so many memories. I know you’re thinking, “Memories? But isn’t this a new release?” Yes. It is a new release, however, all through high school, the O’Malley series was my favorite. Dee Henderson was my go-to author. Any book she ever came out with, I instantly gobbled up (on a loaner from my best friend’s mom… Read More

In Review | The Sun is Also a Star

Confession. I listened to the majority of this book via audiobook—it’s what happens when my TBR pile and due dates expands beyond my reach. The audiobook book brought the book to life in a completely different way. I loved the different formatting of The Sun is Also a Star. The story is told in both Daniel and Natasha’s voices—alternating back… Read More

That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
