February Goal Check In

February Goal Check In

I am using Hannah Brencher’s habit tracker to stack my habits to complete my goals this month, and really, the habits (and goals) are struggling this month. Even though it’s been a struggle, I’m still pushing through, but do to things outside of my control (like subzero temps) I’ve had to shift on some of my goals. Walk 2x Daily/5… Read More

I found myself in 2025 with no book club, but really just wanting to read and discuss books with people. We’re two months in, and I’m in two online book clubs and… Read More

When I first wrote It Happened at Christmas, I was a baby author. Since then, I’ve learned a lot—about writing, about the industry—and I… Read More

Around Here

Around Here

Around here we’re celebrating a certain intern (do you remember the days of “the intern“) who turned eleven (!!!) last month, but due to the January snows we just got to celebrate (with a hotel pool swim and late-night Fortnight challenges with his cousin.) Around here I love diving into a new story, and yes, I’m trying to remember how… Read More

I was up to my ears with rejections for my YA dyst I was up to my ears with rejections for my YA dystopian and ready to throw in the towel. My best friend suggested I try writing YA rom com (remember that @neysawalker ?) … which was laughable (since I liked killing characters not having the happily ever after.) But what she said stuck and I eventually started thinking about this girl named Murphy who watched her crush slip and fall at the airport leading to him being in coma, her being mistaken for his girlfriend, and then meeting his best friend and actually falling in love …
