Top 4 Podcasts (to beat FitBit steps)

I keep rediscovering podcasts. I’ll find some great ones for a while, and then life happens, or I get bored, or my library’s audio copy of whatever Harry Potter book I’m on happens to come available . . . and poor podcasts fall by the way side. This past week. Oh this past week I have rediscovered podcasts. And apparently… Read More

February Goals

February Goals

I love setting goals. I’m also really good at major failing at my goals. I think it’s mostly because I set lofty goals, and then don’t plan to succeed.  I also think it’s because I decide on to many goals for one set period. I mean come on. In a perfect world I can read 10 books a month, but… Read More

St. Ives, Coffee, and Grandma’s House

St. Ives, Coffee, and Grandma’s House

Growing up, there were three for sure things when going to Grandma’s house. (1) If you sat in Grandfather’s chair you would fall asleep. (2) Grandma always had soda hidden under the sink (note: apparently, according to my husband, this is not an okay place for soda to be) and (3) Grandma always had St. Ives lotion on the table… Read More

3 Things I Learned from the Profitability Workshop

3 Things I Learned from the Profitability Workshop

Prior to Tuesday I had attended one, maybe two webinars (or online workshops) in my entire life. I now have two under my belt (I’m quickly becoming a webinar junkie). Angela England and her partner-in-crime, Kirsten Oliphant’s webinar Learn to write and publish profitable ebooks, ecourses, and host webinars is the perfect webinar for all writers (or those with big… Read More

That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
