June Book Report

One would think with it being summer + a beach vacation that I read a ton in June — not as much as I would have liked, but I did get in a solid three reads, and all were really good! Fiction that Speaks

Fiction that Speaks

You, guys. This book. Oh, my heart. First of all, let me say that I went into this book not really knowing what it was about. I knew it was about a dress shop, and Amy Green (who rec’d the book in the first place) said mentioned it was a split time story (which as of late have become some… Read More

Next deadline is early June plus the kids will be getting out of school, so we’ll see how June pans out in the reading department. And yes, while I haven’t finished a ton of books in… Read More

March was insane guys. We celebrated Spring break and I had two out of town trips (and I’m getting ready to go on another out of town trip this weekend). I also set some hard deadlines for the book coming out later this fall (it’s feeling so real … ) Deadlines are intense, y’all! I still managed to read some… Read More

Book Report February

Book Report February

And just like that … we’re on the last day of February. The past two weeks have felt like their own month (am I the only one?) February, for me, was filled with lots of words — both the reading kind and the writing kind. While there are still days of sitting on the couch and watching a Netflix show… Read More

January Book Report

January Book Report

This month has been crazy. Lots of changes around in (in the world really). I feel like it’s been 972 days while also can’t believe that the first month of the year is already … gone. Didn’t get much reading done this month (busy, changes, life). But I do love the books I did get read. The Line Between |… Read More

I was up to my ears with rejections for my YA dyst I was up to my ears with rejections for my YA dystopian and ready to throw in the towel. My best friend suggested I try writing YA rom com (remember that @neysawalker ?) … which was laughable (since I liked killing characters not having the happily ever after.) But what she said stuck and I eventually started thinking about this girl named Murphy who watched her crush slip and fall at the airport leading to him being in coma, her being mistaken for his girlfriend, and then meeting his best friend and actually falling in love …

It Happened at Christmas is my nod to my favorite It Happened at Christmas is my nod to my favorite 90s rom com While You Were Sleeping — but making it YA!

What happens when your crush is in coma, and you get mistaken for his girlfriend, but then his best friend arrives on scene (with a swoon accent) and then you find yourself falling for him?
