Scrapbooking on the Go

Scrapbooking on the Go

I have always been goggly eyed over the way that Amy Tangerine scrapbooks on the go. I knew that in order to actually scrapbook our beach trip from November that I was going to have to do something different than collecting all my shtuff and compiling it into something fun when we got home — honestly, Christen doesn’t do so… Read More

Workspace Wednesday

Workspace Wednesday

Between Oliver’s growth spurt and clingy-ness (literally I have 45 seconds to take a shower in the morning before all hell breaks loose when Oliver realizes that mommy is no longer in the room and daddy is holding him) my workspace today is the side table. I’m going to attempt to get some words written in “the book” today as… Read More

Reviewed: Vertical Vegetable Gardening

I have what you call a very black thumb. I seriously can’t keep anything alive (and apparently, in the case of my tomato plants, if I can keep it alive, it doesn’t produce any fruit). That doesn’t stop me from dreaming of gardening every year. Last year (or was it the year before that? Goodness time flies) my buddy Angela… Read More

The birth of Oliver Scout

The birth of Oliver Scout

From the beginning everyone told me Scout’s birth was going to go fast—in some ways it was fast, but in others it took forever. I started having semi light contractions on Christmas. Enough to know it was a contraction, but not enough to actually think anything was happening (and this is right around the time the plague hit the Krumm… Read More

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
