So. I want to run. I don’t really just want to run, I want to fall in love with running. I want to be one of those crazy insane happy people who get up in the morning to run. Really I do.
Wednesday I’ll be going to the doctor and she’ll “release” me to start working out. I’m planning to start training next Monday for a 5K — just jumping right in.
Here’s my tools I’m planning on using: as you can see in the photo above, my trusty running shoes that will actually be getting use. These still have a few miles left in them, however, when I wear them out, I’m hoping to get the Nike Frees. I already have a pair picked out. Second I’ll be using “The NonRunner’s Marathon Guide for Woman”. Yes, I realize that a 5K is only 3ish miles and a marathon is 26.3 but the resources in this book are great and the author is hilarious (I’ll be doing a full fledged review on this book over at Luxury Reading later this month, so stay tuned there). Also, I’m planning on using Elise Blaha’s tips on this post — particularly the part about writing down how much you run daily. I think that will have a big impact on me.
So, there you have it. My game plan of sorts. I really am seriously (in a weird way?) excited to get started.

Christen! I’m so glad you commented on my blog today! What a small world. Hopefully we can meet on our next visit to AR…we usually go to church when we’re in town!

Yay running is great! I started a while ago and learned to like it. I’d definitely say the best thing for me was keeping track of my progress. There are so many great apps that save your progress and give you updates on your time as you’re going. Have fun!
