For some reason I’m crazy excited about summer this year. I’m finding this funny because I hate the Arkansas heat. Maybe I’m excited this year because I won’t be 8/9/10 months pregnant. Maybe it’s the fact that I have a little girl who very much loves the out doors. Whatever the reason, I’m ready to embrace the summer with open arms (someone please remind me when it’s 120 outside and we’re all melting). For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sharing with you some fun summer activities that I’m looking forward to this summer …
What’s a road trip without books!! I probably should invest in an ereader before I venture on this year’s Family Vacation, but am I? Probably not… haha
I just bought this book. I so can’t wait to start reading it. I’m highly considering saving it for the summer road trip. But of course at a hefty 880 pages I could start it now and still be reading it this summer (they just don’t write like they used to…)
I am a crazy Jane Austen fan. This book, recently found on Pinterest, looks super interesting… I just might splurge a little…
I would also love to read out loud to the kids while traveling. Here’s a couple books I think the whole family would enjoy!
I started reading the Mysterious Benedict Society Series the year before Elsie was born. I got through the first one, but not the second or third . I adored the first one and have found the second and third to add to the collection. The fourth is being released today! Time to start reading them to Els!!
Charlotte’s Web is a classic. It should be read out loud in every family.
Peter Pan. Another must read classic.
What would be on your must read list for a summer road trip?
