I grabbed Genevieve Cogman’s The Invisible Library on recommendation of a close friend (hi, Bek!) Spies, libraries, books, magical elements—this book seriously has it all. It’s a story about a society of librarians who travel to different times and realities to save books. Irene is one of these agents. She travels, with new student, Kai to retrieve a book from an alternative London, however, the mission goes terribly wrong. This is such a gorgeous book. Unfortunately, after trying to read this book for the last couple of months, I’ve had to put it down. This book lagged so much for me, and I really truly hate that. I want to love this book, but I just can’t. I’m not sure if it’s the world that I’m not connecting with or the characters I’m not jiving with, but I only made it a mere five chapters before I couldn’t move on.
I’m hoping that if I pick it up at a later date that I’ll fall in love with it (you know how I love British authors), and if you pick it up, I hope you love it!
