Today began day one — Shake number one:
Spinach, Banana, Flax Seed, and Almond Milk. Wasn’t to bad and reminded me a lot of a tapioca pudding taste. I drank it down as I checked e-mails, blogs, and got ready for errands. We rushed out the door and within an hour I was feeling dizzy and like I was getting ready to puke. Any woman out there who has ever been pregnant knows what I was feeling — it was like a morning sickness feel — a curl up and lay as still as possible until it goes away or give me a cracker NOW feeling(and just for a note — no I’m not pregnant.) After talking it over with Andy (and he mentioning that I hadn’t gotten very far before thinking about throwing in the towel) he pointed out that because I am still nursing I probably should at least eat one meal a day (oh yeah — how in the WORLD did I forget that I was still nursing?!) So it was grilled chicken strips and side salad from Chick-fil-a for lunch (which is very quickly becoming my favorite meal when we eat out). We finished our errands and headed home — which by now it was about dinner time and I was starving again so shake number two:
Spinach, Pineapple, Flaxseed, Banana, and Coconut (I call it the Pina Colada). Yes, it is much thicker then the first. I didn’t blend as long because E had just laid down for a nap, and I didn’t want to take anymore of a chance of waking her then I had to. You could still drink it with a straw. This is a MUST for me with these things. For some reason I almost can never get it down if I just drink it (not to mention I’m one of those people who end up pouring it all over their laps).
Now I’m sitting here drinking a cup of Swampwater tea and getting ready to dive into a pile of work. I did just eat a pickle and I have a feeling I’ll eat at least one more before the night is over with. Here’s to day one. One down, six more to go.
Note: I have been asked the benefits of the Green Shake, so tomorrow I have a post planned with all the details 🙂
