I got a couple questions on why green shakes? What are green shakes? And why do you think they are so awesome. (Just a note. I’m not a medical professional, nor do I want to claim to be. The below is just some of my findings)
It really started last summer when a fellow police officer’s wife gave me this book to read. Victoria Boutenko and her family had all sorts of medical problems — obesity, diabetes, heart issues, ect. After studying the eating habits of monkeys — specifically chimpanzees — she and her family (originally raw foodist) decided to do nothing but green shakes. What are green shakes? Shakes made out of green things. I’m not so hard core, but Boutenko and her family would drink shakes that were mainly greens and no fruit (they
worked up to it) I’ve tried switching up my greens with something other then Spinach — romaine tasted dirty and kale’s texture was so weird I couldn’t drink it (wish I could do Kale). Anyways after drinking nothing but these shakes, Boutenko and her family were basically cured from their medical problems. My fellow PO Wife and her husband lost 5-15 pounds in one month just by adding the green shake to their daily life.
Green shakes are healthy — crazy healthy. You are getting something like 10x your needed amount of daily greens just from one shake! I know many many of you are concerned with taste. Trust me when I say it tastes nothing like spinach. My husband, who is typical man and is very anti vegetable, loves these things. If I start making a shake, my two year old daughter will run to get a cup because she wants some shake too and then she proceeds to share with her nine month old brother who can’t get enough either (of course, this is very very messy…but that’s a whole other story). So if you’re frighten off by taste, don’t be! Find what works for you — add your greens and every favorite fruit and you’ll be good (to this day, my favorite is still spinach, banana, blueberry, and coconut). Green shakes are also known to fight fatigue!
I’d encourage you to try green shakes! Start with just adding one shake a day — trade it out for breakfast or a snack even. You have nothing to lose (but maybe a couple extra pounds that have been hanging on).
