So. I blogged all of two blog posts in September.
I had many many more posts planned, yet, here we are. There was my birthday, then vacation, and I blinked, and it’s October. C’est la vie.
One thing that happens in October that is my favorite is the Next 90 Days challenge.
The Next 90 Days Challenge is a challenge created by Rachel Hollis and the whole point is why wait until January 1 to start making changes, when you can end your year better than you started (and setting yourself up for an even better January 1 start). Taken from the Next 90 blurb — “What if you committed to living your last 90 days of this year as hard as you are committing to living the first 30 days of the new year? What if instead of a downhill slide into 2019, you are ramping up!”
In a nutshell, here are the challenge guidelines:
- Get up an hour earlier than you normally do and use that time for yourself
- Workout for at least thirty minutes
- Drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day
- Give up one food category you know you shouldn’t be eating
- Write down ten things you’re grateful for every single day
I’m tweaking them just a bit, but here’s what I’ll be focusing on:
- Getting up earlier and focusing 1 – 1.5 hours of the morning on writing/editing projects.
- Walking 5 days a week, and adding in a workout 3 days a week.
- Yes, I will be drinking all the water.
- Probably giving up sugar. I do have a caveat for a couple of special things that are coming up, but for the most part, the day-to-day will be no sugar.
- Making sure I get a quiet time in. In this season of busy, I’ve been slacking, and I miss it.
I’m planning on weekly updates — either here or on Instagram! (So, if you don’t see them, feel free to bug me about it!)
If you’re doing the Next 90 Days challenge, what are you focusing on?
