Assassin’s Heart | Sarah Ahiers: This one actually doesn’t come out until next month, but I was sent an advance copy from Epic Reads. I loved the concept of this book— Romeo and Juliet meets The Godfather. Ahiers did a fab job with the world building and creating a stellar kick-ass female lead! [Possible Spolier-ish Alert] This one was just kinda too straight forward for me. I really like twists and turns and the “shock factor” and this one just didn’t have it for me.
Ten Thousand Skies Above You | Claudia Gray: So. Where the first book’s ending made me wanting more of a cliff-hanger, book two did just that. Bravo, Claudia, bravo. The story in this one seemed like I had read 2, 3, maybe even 4 books by the time I was finished. It’s left me wondering how much I really liked it. Also, there were some time-jumps that left me scratching my head (but honestly, that was probably just me). All in all, I’m excited to read book three to see how M, T, and P get out of their latest predicament!
Five Days in Skye | Carla Laureano: Ireland, hunky guy, great female lead. Be still my heart. Every once in a while I love a great romance. Carla I think is my new favorite!
Birthmarked | Caragh M. O’Brien: This one was just an ok read for me. I had a hard time staying set in the setting. I felt like it was medieval setting, however, every once in a while there would be a mention of a computer or other “current day” technology. Also, I think one of the big reasons I had a problem staying connected was I mainly listened to this one on audiobook and it had random long pauses that had me looking at my phone to see if I happened to turn it off.
A Fatal Waltz | Tasha Alexander: I will always and forever love the Lady Emily mysteries, and this one is no different. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten a chance to read one of these lovely stories (this is book 3 of 10—I do have some catching up to do).

Somehow I haven’t heard of ANY of these books OR authors!
Tell me more about Five Days in Skye. I’m a tiny bit picky about my books. I like a good easy read every now and then, as long as it’s clean. Is it?!?! 🙂

Victoria!!! Five Days in Skye was AMAZING. Super good and easy read. I would say it’s clean—it’s also published by a Christian publishing house. There is kissing, and the character’s backstories aren’t squeaky, but that’s real life! Enjoy!! xo, C
