I’ve talked about podcasts a lot on here (here, here, and here)—what can I say? I love podcasts! My favorite podcasts are those delving into the writer and creative’s world. Here are four of my favorite writing and creative podcasts:
DIY MFA Radio: I’ve chatted about this one before (and recently since I’m super excited for her DIY MFA book coming out later this year). It’s hosted my the DIY MFA founder Gabriela Pereira and the show’s mantra is “Learn to write more, write better, write smarter.” My favorite episodes are: #2 Build Your Writing Practice and #48 The Brain Book
Magic Lessons: Hosted by best-selling author, Elizabeth Gilbert, this show focuses on creatives and what makes them tick. My favorite episode is #2 Cheryl Strayed to Moms — ‘Pursue Your Passions Like a Mofo’
Create If Writing: I adore Kiki. She’s fun. She’s brilliant, and she’s a joy to listen to. There are so so many good episodes, but I guess if I had to pick a favorite it’d be How to Discover Your Writing Process
Self Publishing Podcast (Classic): This is my newest find, and man is it a trip. There’s 169 episodes and I’ve just started dipping my toes in. Hosted by Johnny B. Truant, David Wright, and Sean Platt (self-publishing ninjas)—who crank out a book every single week (yup. week.) I’ve listened to the first 6 or so, and I’m really enjoying all of them. Note: these guys use every word in the book, so if you’re sensitive to “dirty words” you may want to skip this one.
