Favorite Podcast Episodes

I have a handful of go-to podcasts that I don’t ever miss an episode of—that’s another post in and of itself. The episodes below are my favorite from my favorite. These are the podcast episodes that sent me scrambling for a pen and paper to take notes—and then rewinding and listening again.

Favorite podcast episodes

on “being busy” | Elise Gets Crafty If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you know how much I love Elise. This was a fun episode with journalist Laura Vanderkam about time-tracking and the myth of busy. My favorite quote from this episode was: “If you are unhappy, you have the power to change it.” and also “Your time will stretch to accommodate what you choose to put into it.”

Get out of the house! Yes even with the kids! It’s gonna be worth it! | Shailey & Katie Show Love Shailey and Katie always such a fun show. Loved all the tips and tricks on getting out of the house with your kids without it being a huge, crazy trip. Takeaway: if your husband gives you time to yourself, grocery shopping isn’t you time. It’s work. Take the kids grocery shopping and then go do something for you during the you time.

How to Be an Author Entrepreneur | DIY MFA Gabriela interviews Joanna Penn, mastermind behind The Creative Penn (one of the top 10 sites for writers). Oh the notes on this one (which I still feel like I could go back and take more!) So much of the ins and outs, and information on the entrepreneurship of being an author.

Ellie Holcomb | Glorious in the Mundane This one refreshed my soul. After this podcast, I introduced Elsie to Ellie Holcomb on Spotify, and my girl fell in love (not that I mind. Great roll model!)  This one is a little longer, but so very worth the listen.

on getting your goals down on paper | Elise Gets Crafty Oh if there is only one on this list that you listen to, let it be this one. I love goals and goal making (even if I’m not very good at it—yet). Elise breaks the making of a goal so simple here. This short podcast made me so excited about getting my goals down on paper! She is also throwing a pitching in there for her Get To Work Book, and seriously if I wasn’t so in love with Moleskines, this would be my planner (but for those of us who just can’t let go, she also has some goal sheet pads in her shop!) Really. If you’ve been struggling with goals, listen to this.

What about you? Do you have any favorite podcast episodes? I’d love to hear about them!
