Book Report: Dancing on the Head of a Pen

Robert Benson’s Dancing on the Head of a Pen is so much more than just another writing book. With his magical prose, Benson gives one a peak into the life of a writer—as well as encouragement and practice advice. This is a book I would highly recommend to any writer at any stage of the game. More about the book: A compelling… Read More

Krumms Eat: Banana Ice Cream

Since we have started eating “cleaner” and “whole” the typical dairy ice cream is off limits. I do love my ice cream, especially during the hot summer months. I was super excited when my mom reminded me that you can make ice cream out of frozen bananas—seriously. The texture very similar, however, you aren’t getting all the sugar and… Read More

Krumms Eat: German Soup

German soup has become a staple around the Krumm house (now if we can just get the kids on board. . .) Super simple, lasts for days, and super yummy. 1 head of cabbage 1 package of Turkey polska kielbasa (we use this from Aldis) or beef or pork whatever suits your fancy Red potatoes (I use 5-8 depending on… Read More

It took me (and Andy) no less than 20 minutes to find something in my drawers to wear… Read More

That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened That was twelve years ago... and I almost listened.

I’m really glad I didn’t. To be honest, this person wasn’t wrong. At the time I wasn’t very good at writing. It was early on in my career. Hearing that I should give up was a punch to my gut and I had two choices.

I could listen, and not write ever again.

OR

I could buckle down and get better.

I chose to get better. I still don’t think I’ve “arrived” but I am a lot better than I was then.

So this is me telling you — don’t ever stop dreaming, don’t ever stop learning, and don’t take bad advice.

You got this. I’m cheering for you.
