I love the start of a new year. I love making goals. This year I made two sets of goals — life/family/home and writing.
Today we’re going to talk writing.
Other than the general “get an agent” and “finish the sci-fi work in progress” (which are on my list always — I do need to make a good plan of actions for both of those. . . ) these goals are pretty new.
My Writing Goals for 2018 are:
(1) Write two pieces off flash fiction.
(2) Write two short stories
(3) Collaboration
I’m not 100% sure on this one. It’s one of my writing bucket goals, and I would so love to knock it out this year. I’m not sure what this would look like (or who to collaborate with. ha!) Hence my somewhat hesitation.
(4) Enter in a writing contest
This is another one that I’m a little hesitant on. I haven’t had the best feedback/experience with a couple of contests I’ve entered in the past, but I’m sure if I found the right one, it could be fun. Again, I’m not exactly sure on this one.
(5) Read one craft book per quarter
I love craft books. Love them. I, however, don’t read enough of them (or I should say I don’t finish reading enough of them). I’m going to commit to at least one per quarter, but not limiting myself!
What about you? Did you make any goals for 2018? I’d love to hear about them!
