Metro Girl | Janet Evanovich: This is a bubble gum book that I absolutely flew through. It was a fun, fast paced book that was great for all the traveling and busy work time that was happening at the beginning of January.
Warcross | Marie Lu: I read this one after a friend practically begged me to read it — and I’m so glad that she did! I have yet to meet a Marie Lu book that I haven’t liked. Super excited for the sequel coming out later this year!
Write Your Novel From the Middle | James Scott Bell: For as small as this book is, it took me way to long to actually read it. I love all James Scott Bell’s writing books — dare I say he’s my favorite books-on-writting author? Maybe. This one had so much great advice. I’ve been putting some of the advice from book into practice with my current WIP!
Reluctant Hero | Jackie Weger: This one was a freebie Kindle deal. I was intrigued by the storyline (a gruff, grumpy man who is stuck on the side of a mountain with a woman and orphans. They have to get down the mountain before the elements kill them). I grabbed this one right after my husband and I watched The Mountain Between Us (which I still need to read). This one was a fairly quick and easy read.
Far from the Madding Crowd | Thomas Hardy: This was my buddy read this month (so you’ll get more on this one later)! I actually liked it a lot more than I was expecting (especially after the beginning when I wanted to throw the book across the room — it’s been a long time since I’ve read a classic *hides under blanket with that confession*)
The Ambrose Deception | Emily Ecton: I was sent this book in exchange for a review (full review coming next month!) Super cute book. I’m excited to share this one with the kids in a couple of year.
