This post is part of Love Bailey Jean’s 2016 Blog-tember Challenge.
The request is simple. Three books. One you just read, one you’re currently reading, and one you want to read. (This may be one of my favorite prompts all month.)
Book I just read:
Crazy in Alabama | Mark Childress: I’m not even going to try to explain this book (it will make me sound crazy). What I will say is this is my Grandmother’s favorite book, and she told me about it (and that I had to read it) the day my Grandfather died (and no one else she knew would read it, so naturally I did). While this is two stories weaved into one, I found the black/white racial issues very interesting. I really loved To Kill a Mockingbird, and this story had similar aspects that reminded me of that. (and on the TKAM note, this book is in no way as clean as Harper Lee’s classic)
Book I’m currently reading:
A Time to Speak | Nadine Brandes: This is the second book in Nadine’s Out of Time series. I’m two chapters in, and of course, loving it. Nadine is a word master (or ninja rather). You really have to read book one, A Time to Die, before even thinking about picking this one up because it literally picks up where book one left off.
Book I want to read:
All the Money in the World | Laura Vanderkam: This one is actually sitting on my nightstand, and I’ll probably read it as soon as I’m finished with A Time to Speak since it’s due back at the library soon. I first heard about Laura in a interview on my favorite podcast, Elise Gets Crafty. All the Money in the World was the only book my library had of Laura’s so I grabbed it up! Can’t wait to dive in.
What are you current three?

Thanks, Melissa! Crazy in Alabama was an entertaining read (if you didn’t mind the . . .”rougher” parts :))
