This book brings back so many memories. I know you’re thinking, “Memories? But isn’t this a new release?” Yes. It is a new release, however, all through high school, the O’Malley series was my favorite. Dee Henderson was my go-to author. Any book she ever came out with, I instantly gobbled up (on a loaner from my best friend’s mom because she’s the one that got the both of us hooked on Henderson).
Threads of Suspicion is the second book in Dee Henderson’s newest series following Detective Evie Blackwell solving cold cases. Evie has been placed on the governor’s Mission Persons Task Force and assigned, with her partner David Marshal, the case of a missing college student.
I love that Dee weaves in a Christ-story in every one of her novels. I feel like it’s more prevalent in her newer novels than the ones I grew up with.
This book isn’t heavy on the romance—and I’m perfectly fine with that! I think everything is weaved in wonderfully making this feel like a “real life” novel instead of just a piece of everyday fiction. I loved the unfolding of the mystery and seeing friends from past books (something I’ve always loved is how Dee weaves characters in from past books).
If you’re heading the beach (or not) this summer, you need to pick up a copy of Threads of Suspicion.
