Today my little brother (or maybe I should say younger since it’s been a very long time since he’s been shorter then me) got on a plane headed for half a world away (and as we found out today a whole day ahead of us as well). These past couple of weeks of having him home have been so much … fun. Sushi dates. Books-a-Million dates. Just having him at mom and dad’s on our Friday night get togethers. It’s been real nice.
He’s stationed in Japan for three years. And while I’m totally for him sending me the really cool Japanese fabrics that I like, I’m not much excited about him being so far away. It’s not really like Virginia was any closer — I still hadn’t been to visit him out there. I’ll be really excited if (when) he moves home. Into his house. Which happens to be a short walk from my house. That will be fun.
So. In the event of him leaving for three years, I decided to make a list of sorts. I’m calling it “The List: 30 to do before 30”. His coming home and my turning 30 just happens to be in the same year. Nice how that worked out.
I’m going to try to keep all 30 things on my list doable. So no “Road trips across country by myself” because we all know that would never happen. I currently have four things on my list. Four. That’s a far cry from 30. I have 26 more that I need to get written down. Here is where I’m asking you for help. What should be on my list? When I get all 30 complied, I’ll share what’s made the cut.
Note: Sorry to those who read my Tweet and Instagram post that said “A” was leaving for Japan — “A” stood for Adam not Andy. Didn’t think that one all the way through 🙂
[…] I shared a few weeks back about about my grand plan of a 30 things to do before I’m 30 (and my brother moves home … crossing fingers) After much thinking, planning, scrambling and […]
