Hot baths. For a year my tub was broken. Over the weekend, my husband fixed it and oh man. I didn’t realize how much I had been missing hot, relaxing baths! I’ve been using lots of epson salt mixed with essential oils, but I’m looking forward to getting some bath bombs — do you have a favorite?
Homemade dry shampoo (in a Trader Joe dry rub can). I’m desperately trying to train my hair to not need washing every. single. day. “Over the counter” dry shampoo just make my hair feel. Ew. Like it’s great for a quick touch up, or to put a little texture in my hair, but to actually soak up the oilyness that is my hair. Nope. Not working (and let’s not even talk about the toxicity levels of those dry shampoos . . . ) Anywho. Found this recipe on Instagram and I’m loving it. I did mix arrowroot powder and baking powder. I’m not sure if it’s because I mixed the two, but trying to get it out of my salt shaker wasn’t happening. Just dumping it in my hand just created a massive mess — I almost gave up. But, I was cleaning out my spice cabinet and found a very old Trader Joe’s BBQ rub . . . in the perfect metal container. It’s magical now. Application does take a little longer, but so far I can go every other day between washings (which is a huge step for me!)
Writing Friends. You, guys. Do you know how many times a day I second (and third and fourth) guess myself? Somedays it’s only by the reassurances (and Gib slaps — thanks Jaime Jo) of my writing friends that I keep going.
Hot Coffee. When does this not save my life?
