Plumdog is a endearing book about a small black dog (she’s a whoosell—a whippet mixed with Jack Russell and poodle) from London (which was my original draw towards this book). Through Emma Chichester Clark’s new book, we are able to follow Plum through a year in her life, diary style. Elsie and I are currently reading through this book and are loving it!
While Elsie loves looking at the pictures and following the adventures of this funny dog, I love the illustrations as well and the sites of London. This is the perfect grown-up/kid picture book.
Emma Chichester Clark has a couple more Plumdog picture books out that we may be adding to our shelves soon!
More about the book:
The irresistible illustrated diary of one very special London dog—the perfect gift book for dog lovers of all stripes (and spots!) Hello. My name is Plum and I’m a whoosell—a whippet mixed with Jack Russell and poodle. I especially like swimming, leaping, and croissants, and my favorite fragrance is fox poop. I live with Emma, an illustrator, and Rupert in London. Over the last year, I’ve been keeping a diary. Emma helped with the pictures, but the words are all mine. Since 2012 Emma Chichester Clark has been delighting followers with her blog Plumdog, which records the adventures, discoveries, wry observations, and social engagements of her dog, Plum. Now Plum’s best pages are collected in this beautiful little storybook volume, which will delight anyone who has ever loved a dog.
Purchase a copy: Physical | Kindle (this book is too fun to be bought as a Kindle—just buy the real thing!)
*I was given a free copy of the book from the publisher for my honest review.
