We are smack dab in the middle of NaNoWriMo (actually, I can’t back that up. I think there’s still quite a few days before we’re in the middle. . . like um . . 6?) Has your word count started slowing yet? (If not, good for you. Here’s some coffee. Keep writing). Are you getting discouraged by other’s word count? (Monday, a gal checked in on Twitter that she has already hit 50K words. To that I applaud her . . .and assume that she either doesn’t have little people running around at home, or doesn’t sleep. Probably both.)
Maybe, like me, you aren’t following the traditional rules of NaNoWriMo. Instead you’ve set yourself another goal and you’ve already messed up (my hand is raised. I’ll admit it.)
Well, here is your almost mid-point NaNoWriMo pep talk.
Whether you’ve kept up with your goals, or have fallen a little behind, I’m here to tell you, you are awesome. You’re a rock star. Seriously.
For those of you that have kept up with your goals. You rock. You got this. Finish the month strong.
For those of you that, like me, may have messed up a little or have fallen so behind you’re not sure you can ever catch up. Stop with the negativity (I mean it). Today is a new day. You will reach your goal today. Tomorrow is another day—you can think about knocking your goals of tomorrow out of the water . . . tomorrow. Focus on today. Conquer today. I believe in you. Own it like a boss. Get it done.
I give a standing ovation to all of you. You have set out on a crazy adventure in November to conquer goals—and for that. . .rock star. You are a goal maker. You are a goal boss.
