So. I have a goal starting Jan 1 — yes, I’m already starting “New Year Resolutions”, goals, “promises never intended to keep” (kudos to you if you know what movie that last quote is from…), what have you — that goal is to write my husband love letters. I haven’t decided if I want to do 12 (one a month — where’s the fun in that) or 24 (two a month) or 52 (once a week … which I’m really leaning towards).
I really don’t think I’m any good at writing mushy love letters — or the normal kind either. I love the idea of love letters, but I just have never thought I’ve been good at it. I have been thinking of how cool it would be if in 50 years we can look back over the love letters written over the years… or in 100 years when our great grandkids find an old box full of love letters — I am a romantic… I’ll give my self that.
I’ve been pouring over etsy these past couple of weeks finding the fun cheesy love note cards and have been putting them in my favorites to slowly build a collection for the new year.
Here are a couple I’ve found and just adore:
from Pistachio Press
from Julie Ann Art
from Sapling Press
from Sapling Press
from Earmark
I have a few more goals for the new year that I’ll be sharing over the next couple of weeks. But, for now, if anyone has any tips or fun suggestions for love letters (or fun shops to order cards from), I’ll take them!! I have 52 weeks to fill with this funness!

*It would be sweet to take a character quality and expound on how that makes you respect him more and love him. Include an illustrating story.
*Write him a letter with a prayer in it.
*Tell him how much you are blessed by the different things you do.
*Include his favorite quotes.
Just some ideas…I’m not experienced so I’m not sure how well they would do. 🙂

Christen, I love your idea!! I kept my old love letters that Andy wrote to me while we were dating. I know my daughter wants them and she knows I have them. I have kept all of Steve’s cards to me and I think all of our e-mails to each other while we were dating (those will not mean anything to my children or his children, but just us). I believe your that Elsie and Drew would love them, so go for it, girlfriend. Have fun doing it. Love ya, Lynne
