Elsie turned 2 on November 11th and it really seems like we’ve had a marathon of birthday parties this month!
We were going to only have one big party for her. Because of other family member’s birthdays this month (ehm Oma’s, Opa’s, uncles, aunts, great uncles, etc) it was just going to be easier. However, at the last minute, since my younger cousins and Elsie’s “friends” (really second cousins), were coming over on her actual birthday, I figured why not throw her a small birthday party with her favorite foods (hamburgers and french fries) and some cupcakes.
Next, was her actual birthday party. We went with the “Up” theme. That day of getting ready for her party felt like a marathon! It was pretty terrible — I’m just going to leave it at that (chalk it up to those post prego hormones that are still hanging around).
The night before was spent staying up until 3:30 AM making cakes. I made 3. Why? I have no earthly idea. Maybe next year I’ll just go with simple (yeah right).
Her last party was her “Tulsa” party. Her Oma decided that E did need a Tulsa party despite all the other birthday’s surrounding our visit. So we had a birthday/Thanksgiving celebration and like the great mother I am, I did not take any pictures — it was very informal. No singing, just lots of present opening.
