We’re past our first quarter of the year, almost through the second quarter, and definitely time for an almost mid-way check-in with the goals.
Visit the library 100 times.
One thing that I’ve noticed this year is that I’m really starting to thinking about what I want the rest of the year to look like — and that meant that some things already are getting crossed off the list. The first one being … visit the library 100 times. Just because it’s marked off doesn’t mean that we’ve stopped going to the library, but I have found, especially during our weirdly busy spring, I hate, hate trying to go places after school (and trying to get homework done and hanging out with the kids and getting dinner made and on the table and getting showers and the bedtime routine done and in bed by eight).
So we basically stopped doing pretty much everything that we were doing after school — going to the gym, to the library, running errands. Summer is coming, and we’ll be going to the library a lot (like a lot a lot), but for now, I don’t want the pressure of making sure that we hit that “magic number”. We’re just going to enjoy it.
Memorizing Scripture
I haven’t been doing great memorizing scripture, but the kids and I have a whole plan for this summer (guys, our summer plans are just insane). And memorizing scripture is very high on the list.
Read more poetry and non-fiction
I thought I was doing pretty bad on this, but really … I’m reading more non-fiction this year than I can remember. I do need to add in more poetry (send me your recommendations!) The kids and I are going to have tea time and poetry this summer (most likely on rainy days) and we are looking forward to that!
My writing goals are pretty on point for the year.
Finish IH@C and launch into the world
I’m on track for getting this goal accomplished. Make sure you’re signed up for my newsletter to get the first news on any release dates (or title/cover/preorder reveals!) You can sign up in the sign bar!
Collaboration
I still don’t know what this one looks like. Honestly, IH@C in itself is a collaboration with so many wonderful people that the completion of that project might earn the check-off of this goal as well.
Picture Book
I still haven’t given up on this project, but it is on the back burner for now while I finish up IH@C and work on a non-fiction proposal.
Read One Craft Book Per Quarter
The first quarter I read 5,000 Words Per Hour and this quarter I’m working on Your First 1000 Copies. Both are very small books, but, guys, I was setting myself up with success with planning it that way!
How are your 2019 goals doing? I’d love to hear!
