Wrap-up of my first ever Booktubeathon and reading challenge. I did get three books read, however, one of the books I wasn’t planning on having finished for the challenge.
So last week I listed the books I was reading for the challenge, and which of the seven challenges I was going to be taking part in.
Book you last acquired: Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong. This one was really tough for me. There were parts that I did enjoy (Gavril), but for the most part I just didn’t. For me it was a lot like The Maze Runner. I felt like I should really like it, but I didn’t and can’t put my finger on why. There was tons of action (and lots of blood), but it was just . . . slow. I felt like moving through sludge trying to finish.
Finish a book without letting go of it: Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson. This one was a big fail for me. In fact I didn’t even pick it up all week—planning a 4 year olds birthday and working will do that to you . . .
Read a book you really want to read: Once Upon a Time Shadow of the Queen. This one was just fun. I loved reading about the characters I so enjoy watching. One of my favorite things was each chapter was illustrated by someone different.
And my extra book thrown in (and it’s totally cheating because I had already started 1000 months ago), but fit in the category of read a book with blue on the cover and I did finish it this week: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. I was a little nervous about this one because of all the fans saying it was the most unnecessary of all the books in the series, and yes it took me forever and then some to read it, but end verdict. I liked it. I’m excited about starting the next book, but a little nervous because I know they go all depressing from here . . . (and all my favorite characters die . . .)
So that’s it from me. What’d you get read this week?
