Mary Weber, you are a freaking genius.
Siren’s Song, book three in Weber’s Storm Siren Series, brings our journey to Faelen to a close. Stakes are higher as Nym and team travel to Faelen, warning those about Draewulf’s impending attack. Receiving a cryptic warning/future telling from the Cashlin ruler, Queen Laiha, Nym now has hard choices to make. With the battle looming, everything is uncertain. Who will die, and who will be left standing at the end of it all?
One of my favorite aspects of this book has almost nothing to do with the actual story (but characters do make up the story, so I suppose in a way it’s all about story). I love the interaction of Nym and Eogan. The stolen glances, the knowing looks. Not all was sunshine and roses, and there were some confusion between the two as well—such as in many real life relationships. This landed such normality of real relationships today.
Secondary characters shine in the third book. From adorable Kel to nasty Lord Myles, who crazy enough had his moments that made me hate him less and pity him just a bit—however, by the end of the book, he was one of my favorites!
If you know me at all, you know I like tragic endings. I’m not going to give the ending to Siren’s Song away, but I will say that it was perfectly tragic and the perfect happy-ever-after making every reader a happy reader.
