Oh I can tell it is the season for reading (why do I always read more October-December?) Six more in the books for last month (a few winners, some not so much).
Furthermore | Tehereh Mafi: I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that I didn’t know this was an Alice in Wonderland retelling. I was a little lost during the first few pages—even though Mafi’s writing is just a lyrical and beautiful as her Shatter Me series. It still took me about 3/4th of the book to really fall in love with it.
The Goodbye Bride | Denise Hunter: Why has it taken me so long to read a Denise Hunter book. Seriously, guys. If you are looking for heart-stopping romance, Hunter is your gal! Really looking forward to diving into the next book in this series!
Dangerous to Know | Tasha Alexander: Lady Emily will forever be one of my favorite series. I feel like the books just get better and better as the series goes on!
The Program | Suzanne Young: This one was just so so for me. I listened to it during my morning runs, and I was mostly ready for this one to be over (or maybe it was just my runs I was ready to be over with). Haven’t decided if I’ll continue on with the series. I am curious to find out how the characters defeat the Program.
An Ember in the Ashes | Sabaa Tahir: Be still my heart. I think this may have been my favorite read of the month! It was one that I couldn’t stop thinking about even when I wasn’t reading it. I finished the majority of it on my anniversary road trip. Can’t wait to get my hands on book two!
Paper Princess | Erin Watt: This one was a impulse buy from a recommendation on Instagram. Because of content throughout the book, it’s not one that I can recommend.
You can see what I’m currently reading here. I’m currently don’t have an audiobook I’m listening to on my runs—I’m very open to recommendations!
What are you reading this month?
