December is always a month for trying to finish reading books that I’m midway through. This year, however, with the exception of one, are all new reads and all from the library. I’m really loving putting my library card to good use!
December Book Report
Heartless | Marissa Meyer: I loved Marissa’s Lunar Chronicles and I loved Heartless. It was the backstory of the Queen of Hearts from Alice and Wonderland and it was just perfect.
LumberJanes Vol. 4: Out of Time: Eh. Still not in love with this graphic novel, but I was needing some lite fast reads, so I was working on finishing up this series (at least what my library has of this series). Still waiting for that graphic novel that I super love and can’t put down.
Replica | Lauren Oliver: This one was super interesting. It was two books in one that you could either read together or separate (I read them together). I enjoyed the process and the twist at the end (which I totally saw coming). I’m looking forward to book two coming out later this year.
A Deadly Affection | Cuyler Overholt: I really enjoy the turn of the century mysteries that feature strong women. This was a super fun read (and a debut!), and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series. If you’ve read and enjoyed Tasha Alexander’s Lady Emily series, you’d enjoy this series as well.
The Story of With | Allen Arnold: The perfect book for any writer or creative. This one spoke to my soul. I love Allen’s idea of when a creator creates, he creates with the Creator. It’s really made me think about the idea of how writing is my worship.
p.s. see what I’m currently reading here. and if you wanted to leave a comment with what you’re reading or with a recommendation I’d love it!
