Growing up, there were three for sure things when going to Grandma’s house. (1) If you sat in Grandfather’s chair you would fall asleep. (2) Grandma always had soda hidden under the sink (note: apparently, according to my husband, this is not an okay place for soda to be) and (3) Grandma always had St. Ives lotion on the table next to her chair.
I remember so many days of curling up next to my grandma, during her 2 PM soap opera—her one break in her day. Coffee, with milk, and apple slices sometimes accompanied by peanut butter, would be grandma’s snack of choice. My coffee, at that time, was 1/2 sugar, 1/2 the good stuff, but we would sit there together sharing time over our drinks and apple slices. After enjoying our snack, we’d break out the lotion and I’d give grandma a hand massage (or she me) while she finished her daily breather.
So many things have changed over the years, I’ve gotten married, had children of my own, Grandma moved to a smaller house. I don’t always get a chance to sit with Grandma during her daily ritual, but she still has a bottle of lotion close.
St. Ives’ new Refresh and Revive Pear and Soy lotion is the perfect way to moisturize your skin durning these harsh winter months. The pear scent is light and yummy, and the lotion leaves your hands feeling soft—not sticky and oily like some of the products on the shelves.
