Last month we semi-spontaniously decided to go watch a friend’s daughter play soccer. Being March, and being Arkansas, the weather wasn’t cooperating and it was just cold enough that I couldn’t get away with wearing my go-to maxi skirt, t-shirt, and cardigan. It took me (and Andy) no less than 20 minutes to find something in my drawers to wear that fit, was warm enough, and didn’t make me feel like a over-grown hippo.
Clothes. We all have to wear them (thankfully). Please tell me I’m not the only one who gets uber frustrated when she has to go somewhere, goes to her drawers of clothes (or closet) and . . . finds nothing to wear.
It’s sad to say, but as a stay at home mom, most of my clothes are t-shirts, stained, have random holes, or, being in the “I just had a baby two months ago” stage, don’t fit. It’s frustrated, irritating, and discouraging.
Not wanting to buy a whole new wardrobe for this stage (because I’m working my hardest to get out of this stage), I decided to turn to . . . where else? Pinterest for some inspiration. It was here that I re-stumbled upon the “10 Pieces Wardrobe Challenge”. It’s brilliant really. Ten pieces of clothing and you can make X amount of outfits. Simple. Easy. I love it.
I’m going to be basing my wardrobe off of these two pins the Lucky dozen and 10 piece basic wardrobe. Clothes will be purchased from various second hand stores, Old Navy, and Target. Why? Because this is small town Arkansas and that’s all that is here. Also, cheap. That’s what we’re going for here. Because . . . I’m getting out of this stage soon.
What are some of your favorite “go-tos”?
