What I’m Reading This Month:
I’m still working on Natalie Walter’s Lights Out. Still loving it. Oh my goodness I’m loving it. I can’t wait for this entire series to be out! It’s giving me all the vibes that I so love — misunderstandings in love/relationship, big tribe, everything I love about NCIS, Lethal Weapon, Leverage, Criminal Minds (come to think of it … if anyone in TV is reading this, this series would be PERFECT for television. Really. I promise). Also, when you pre-order Lights Out, make sure to save your receipt. She has some super fun pre-order goodies planned!
This book just landed on my desk (because I ordered it) and I can’t wait to dive into this series. You know dystopian stories have my heart.
A Coast of Yellow Paint by Naomi Davis is my current nonfiction read. After following Love Taza on the web and Instagram, I’m devouring this book.
Everything that Elise is going to be doing to their new home.

What We’re Eating This Week:
Monday: Spaghetti, green beans, and garlic toast — nothing fancy, but one that all my kids will devour.
Tuesday: Joanna Gaines’ Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas and Mexican rice — my husband’s favorite
Wednesday: Meatloaf, green beans with new potatoes, and beets — another one that is on constant rotation because the kids love it.
Thursday: Tuna Patties, corn, and green beans
Friday: Succotash — which means chicken, turkey sausage (because I can’t do pork or red meat), and whatever veggies we have leftover dumped all together and called dinner.
Projects This Month:
This month has mainly been spent getting in all the words for CK2 to finish up the first draft before I move on to my Sunrise project in September. Good news is … I’m actually going to make it! As of this morning, I only had 10k left before reaching my goal. We’re in the home stretch and it feels so good.
E and I have also been trying to make it to the gym more than once a week. One of these days I’ll actually be able to run three miles and it won’t take me fifty minutes to do so, but until then, we’re going to keep chipping away and working at it! Slow and steady wins the race … right?
We’re also in the last few days of summer before we start our second year of homeschooling. It’s looked like waking up early and reading under blankets on the couch. Long games of Sequence with my mother-in-law (Sequence is our favorite and one day I’ll beat her!)
My plants on the back patio are still doing pretty good. Even the one that I’m pretty sure is just weeds and poison oak (going to get something better repotted in that one real soon.)
What about you? What have you been up to this month? I’d love to hear!
