One of these days I’ll learn to read just one book at a time.
But today is not that day.
Here is everything I’m currently reading. (Have you read any of these?)
📚 Daughter of Sparta | Claire M. Andrews – I literally just picked this one up from the library yesterday and I’m only like two pages in, but so far it’s captivating.
📚 Writing to Learn | William Zinsser – Part how-to, part memoir, I’m enjoying this book. It’s all about how it doesn’t matter which field you’re in, writing well is an essential part of communication. I’m highly considering having my high schooler (yes, she’ll be in high school this fall) read it!
📚 Night Falls on Predicament Avenue | Jaime Jo Wright – I’ve already gushed about this one earlier this week, but such a great story. In true Jaime Jo fashion, this one is equal parts spooky and beautifully written.
📚 One Dark Window | Rachel Gillig – This one was recommended by Blake Guichet (@thegirlnamedblake) and with good reason. It reminds me of a sophisticated Venom (you know the 2018 movie with Tom Hardy?) There’s promise of a slow-burn romance and I just got to the part that I think I see it coming.
📚 The One and Only Ivan | Katherine Applegate – I’m pre-reading this one for my almost fifth grader, and I’m convinced there’s something magically about reading MG fiction.
📚 The Truly Successful Author | Maria Secoy – This is my craft book for the month. Maria lays out how to build a successful author career in only 10 – 15 hours a week. It’s all in the 4-book-a-year plan (which I’ve been leaning toward) and I like seeing it all laid out in a nice and neat plan.
What about you? What are you currently reading that you’re enjoying? Anything I need to add to my list?
