On Weight Loss

So it’s no secret that I’ve been needing to lose a few pounds (going to college, getting married, getting a desk job, and having two kids will do that to you). After getting crazy inspired by I Rock So What and just deciding that 2012 was my year to do this I jumped in both feet at the beginning of February.

In my one month, I’ve lost 13.2 pounds and 2-6 inches (depending on what you’re measuring). I really haven’t been doing anything crazy drastic. I’ve just followed some very simple rules  – (1) No sugar (2) No breads (3) No dairy (4) Very limited processed foods (5) Did I mention no sugar? The beginning was a little difficult because just about every dish I cook has either pasta and/or cheese. And my sugar intake was crazy (embarrassingly) insane. However, after I got in the swing of things it actually wasn’t to bad! I’ve been eating (drinking) a lot of these:

and these:

and my cup of coffee no longer has gobs and gobs of sugar and cream. Nope, just a little shot of soy milk (or almond milk… which I think I like better — less calories).

That is really pretty much it. I have taken up Zumba again and recently (as in last week) I’ve started a Pilates/Bar class — wonderful!

What about you? Do you have any go to weight loss tricks?

As I was scrolling down looking at the pictures I was taking a drink of my Naked Juice and you had a pic of one too! I have no weight-loss tricks. Wish I did! Sounds like you are doing wonderful…congrats! I’m cutting back on sugar right now.
